You are invited to hear an immersive sonic artwork 'for the people by the people'. Martyn Ware and Illustrious Company are curating and creating a huge 3D sound installation featuring recordings created by community groups, ethnic associations, schools and youth clubs from Westminister. The hour-long loop will play for 10 hours a day for 10 days to over 2 million people.
The installation will be launched at 11am on June 4th and there will be a talk describing the project at 7pm on June 4th at Westminister Reference Library (35 St Martins Street, WC2H 7HP). there will also be a small exhibition at the library for the duration of the installation.
A selection of soundbites were used from The Foundry's Late Late Breakfast Show and Tracey Moberly's interviews with a number of guests. Her interviews with Tony Benn, Ruth Winstone, Ken Livingstone, Bruce Reynolds and Shaun Dey are woven into the intricate audio tapestry of Soundlife London.
The audio tapestry also contains 'Bermuda Blue Laps The Passion Pink Shore...' selections by Tracey moberly and Danny Pockets who are known artistically as The Duke & Duchess of the text messaging world. Selections from their work have been set to a backdrop cacophony of train lines and transport networks.
The Foundry Late Late Breakfast show is every Friday Live from The Foundry on Resonance 104.4fm and http://www.resonancefm.com
'Bermuda Blue Laps The Passion Pink Shore...' opens the launch of The Pinter Residency Launch at Hackney Empire June 16th.
Supported by City Of Westminster Council, Arts Council England and Arts Co.
