An Artist's Life - Practice and Politics
How can the singular vision of an artist connect with social themes? Tracey Moberly's work as an interdisciplinary artist includes mass participation and new technology. Her book Text-Me-Up! is an autobiographical work using her words and samples from all the texts she has ever received since the start of the SMS text messaging era.
In this presentation Tracey will talk about her use of digital media and social media such as Instagram, Twitter, camera phones and text messages in her artwork and campaigns. The use of this technology allows for collaboration across different platforms and with other artists and the audience, as Tracey explores themes such as subculture and underground culture.
