It's a top glass act by school's tiny historians

YOUNGSTERS have reflected the changing face of Hulme in a series of striking glass mosaics.
Nursery school children captured the past, present and future of the inner city community, which is under- going a massive facelift, in three colourful glass panels.
One of the mosaics even included a cockroach to show the grimmier side of Hulme in the bad old days.
The mosaics were part of a wider environmental arts project carried out by 90 youngsters aged two to four at Martenscroft nursery school.
"It's time of great upheaval and the children have been able to focus positvely on what's going on around them," said headteacher Joan Speller.
The panels, made with help from local artist Tracey Sanders-Wood, will be hung on display in the school's playground.
